Our Mission
At Greenwood Mennonite Church our Mission is to
Grow in Jesus through worship and teaching the Scripture,
Model Jesus before our families and community, and to
Care for others with loving acts of service.
Our Vision
Grow
Greenwood Mennonite Church will continue to develop a Sunday School Program and other ministries, that attempt to meet the needs of all age groups. Teaching will focus on Scripture and how to pass on our faith. We believe in encouraging perseverance, by proclaiming hope in the Lord’s coming. In addition, we will structure our services to provide meaningful worship, encourage the use of spiritual gifts, and utilize many in different ministries of the church.
Model
We believe the life of Jesus was a life of sacrifice. So, we are called to model that. To that end, we will stress Christian character that sets an example of walking what we talk before our children, spouses, and others. We will focus on a lifestyle of honesty and integrity, simplicity, and modesty, obedience and sacrifice, non-resistance and peacemaking. In addition, we will provide resources to foster and maintain healthy families. Our priority will be living for Jesus first. Therefore, our activities and time-use will be evaluated in light of this.
Care
We will seek to be a haven for the hurting by helping our congregation develop a heart for the hurting. Our focus on caring will be to:
1) Loving the lost, so as to lead them into a living relationship with the Lord;
2) Meet immediate and long-term needs in the community
3) Serve those with special needs;
4) Care for people’s spiritual, emotional, and physical needs;
5) Visit the lonely and those among us who cannot get out (shut-ins).
We will challenge people to go out from our community, sending them into missions and service vocations.
Our Statement of Faith
Greenwood Mennonite Church is a group of believers who believe in God, who created the universe, and his son Jesus. We have committed to pattern our lives after Him by allowing his Spirit to live in us. It is our desire that others would learn to know of His amazing love through our faithfulness in loving and serving Him. Our church is officially affiliated with Rosedale Network of Churches (RNoC) in Rosedale, Ohio. We have adopted the RNoC Statement of Theology and Statement of Practice as our personal documents of belief and expression of faith. We invite all to join us as we seek to live our lives for Him.
